NAMIBIA
At 318,000 square miles, Namibia occupies the arid southwest corner of Africa on the Tropic of Capricorn and is indisputably one of Africa's most scenic areas. It is the premier hunting destination for free ranging plains game and one of the least expensive areas for leopard. The Caprivi Strip and Communal Concessions are also becoming quite well known for dangerous game.
We offer a wide variety of hunts in Namibia including private ranch hunts with access to over 185,000 acres in the East and Central Kalahari and Khomas Hochland. Ranch hunting is done primarily on 5 farms, Farm Apies and Farm Amaria in Khomas Hochland, Farm Natalia and Farm Otjisororindi both northeast of Windhoek and technically in the edge of the Kalahari and much further east deep in the Kalahari near the Botswana border Farm Mooiplaas (Morningstar). Since 1997 a number of communal conservancies have been registered under Namibian Conservancy Legislation allowing the populace residing in rural communal areas to reap an income from the wildlife. Our outfitter has the rights to three communal conservancies. North of Etosha-King Nehale Communal Conservancy on the northern border of Etosha Park was registered in 2005 and covers 107,500 acres. The area is excellent for plainsgame especially Springbok,Blue Wildebeest,Burchells Zebra and Oryx. It is not uncommon for a plains game hunter in King Nehale to be offered a problem Elephant or Lion. Hunters prepared to arrive on short notice (within 5 days) can experience the dangerous game hunt of a lifetime at a very low price, often going home with a great trophy. The 3rd largest communal conservacy in Namibia at 8,729 sq km(2,157,023 acres) is Ondjou Communal Conservancy. This conservancy borders Botswana and is massive and remote. It was registered in 2006 and granted a trophy quota in 2009. There are about 2,000 Herero people living within the conservancy in settlements ranging in size from a few huts to small villages. The conservancy is hunted primarily for Elephant, Leopard and some plains game. Nyae-Nyae Conservancy in Bushmanland bordering Ondjou to the north has produced two 100 lbs bulls in the last 10 years. Ondjou is "BULL COUNTRY" and has averaged 75 lbs per trophy Elephant for the last 15 years. For dangerous game in the Caprivi we have Dzoti Communal Conservancy offering Elephant, Buffalo, Hippo and Croc and occasionally Lion and Leopard.
Dzoti Communal Conservancy is one of the youngest and most promising big game concessions in Namibia. Dzoti is 250 sq km(61,800 acres) and borders directly with three major national parks, Mudumo to the northwest, Mamili to the southwest, and just across the Linyanti River to the southeast is the world renowned Chobe National Park in Botswana. These will be classic tented safaris and six of the big seven can be hunted including Buffalo, Elephant, Hippo, Croc, Lion and Leopard as well as Red Lechwe, Reedbuck and Sitatunga. Four PAC animals have been taken including two hippo bulls and two elephant a 54/51 in 2005 and a 66/48 in 2008. In 2010 clients took 3 elephant between 52 and 59 lbs. all taken within the first 4 days of their safari and 4 buffalo between 36 and 44 inches taken within the first 3 days of the safari. In Dzoti there is no surcharge for big ivory. You can see a detailed price list for Dzoti below.
