Zimbabwe occupies 149,293 sq mi in south-central Africa, is slightly smaller than California and is bordered by South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. Formerly Southern Rhodesia, Zimbabwe has certainly seen its share of problems with a 75% decline in tourism and hyperinflation peaking in late 2008, early 2009 at an inflation rate of 516 quintillion percent with prices doubling every 32 hours. In spite of its problems it is a fantastic hunting destination and one of the only places in Africa where Elephant is both readily available and affordable. It also produces good Buffalo and Leopard at great prices. Our outfitters have invested their lives in Zimbabwe and currently control two government concessions, Gokwe North and South. You will be met in Bulawayo and transported to camp by car for USD350 or charter flight for USD1200.
